Well I learned my lesson this weekend! Do not take your kiddos out for a photo shoot when it’s freezing cold. I thought we were going to have a heat wave this weekend (temps in the 20’s) so I took my kids out hoping to get a few shots for their Valentine’s Day cards. What a disaster! With the wind whipping around it was FRIGID, actually quite a bit below freezing so the kids were miserable (I don’t blame them either). I think we lasted less than 5 minutes so forgive the poor photos, it was a very rushed 5 minutes. LOL! Happy Monday!

Saturday I celebrated my 29th (I wish) birthday….O.k….my 41st birthday but who’s counting. Ha! Dave and the kids gave me this great new prop, a vintage looking gumball machine. Izzy gave me a whole 5 minutes to take a few photos before school today. I can’t wait to get back outside and shoot but unfortunately it’s sub-zero temps today so I think it will be a while. Hope you are having a great week!

Today is such a cold, gray, damp day in the midwest. The kind of day that makes you feel totally unmotivated, just wanting to curl up with a good book and a blanket. Anyway…I needed a little bit of sunshine today….These were from the summer and have been posted before but they are helping to “cheer” me up a bit. Happy Monday!

Happy Friday! You may have noticed a few changes to my blog this week. I am still working on tweaking it so please be patient with me. I am currently testing out my new ability to load slide shows so you may notice some recently posted photos. Also, I am trying to figure out how to play music only in the slide show so sorry if it plays when you open my blog….I am working on this! LOL! This is sort of a test. Enjoy!

I have to say that I am so over winter and longing for spring. I thought this photo might cheer up any of you who are anxiously awaiting springs arrival (unfortunately, I know it will be awhile). I have actually been inspired by another photographer/designer who takes the most beautiful photos of flowers (and children). She has created some amazing actions and textures that I have been having lots of fun playing with these days. Check her out at florabella!
